Interview with a Psychic – Gary Markwick, a Palmist/Hand Analyst
MistycMag’s Marko Velimirovic had the pleasure of meeting Gary Markwick – a world-renowned Palmist/Hand Analyst from London. He had the chance to ask Gary some interesting questions about his beginnings, what his clients are usually looking for, how his work was affected by the pandemic, and what kind of advice he has for young psychic readers.
What inspired you to start your psychic reading business?
Gary Markwick: Well, my family was involved in it years ago, my grandfather and mother, they were quite well known in the 1950s with mind reading, escapology, they did palmistry and things like that. Over the years I did not really take too much notice, my grandfather used to test me with cards when I was very young, but I kind of tried other things, like music, and then kind of came back to it, full circle, that’s how I got into it. Later on, I was studying palmistry and other things around it, that’s how I became involved with it, but it was always there, really from an early age, I guess.
What is the most popular type of reading that customers are looking for? What are the most common concerns that interest them?
GM: My main readings are involved with palmistry, I do tarot cards as well. What they are looking for, most people are usually relationships, sometimes careers. It’s changing a little bit now, a lot of people are out of work because of the Covid-19 situation. But you know, mostly, relationships are a big one for most people, and I would answer their questions by reading them through the palms, and then I would go on to the tarot cards.
Are some types of psychic readings more demanding or difficult than others?
GM: Not particularly, though I am more clairsentient working within the person’s life rather than about what’s going on around them with other people. So, if I was to do that, it would become a lot more difficult, so I usually focus on what’s going on within the person’s life, and that’s fine, it works out fine. Sometimes you might get a slightly difficult client, though usually, they are ok, it always works out in the end.
Some of the psychic sessions are still performed in person. What about you? How has your work been affected by the pandemic?
GM: I’m still performing, up to about last week or so, I was quite busy, really busy. But since the second wave of Covid-19 has come around it’s been much quieter. I think people are very hesitant now and they are afraid to make decisions, they don’t know what’s going on at the moment, so it has affected me. However, I still offer online readings worldwide which really helped in these difficult times.
What advice would you give to a new psychic reader? Is it better for them to work independently or as a part of a team?
GM: I don’t think it really matters too much, it’s important to get as much experience they can get, maybe starting off on their own. It can work with groups, but I’ve always worked alone, more or less myself really. And most readers really often work alone, unless there are festivals or certain events, then they work in groups, but even then, they are working individually. Depending on what they are doing, if it’s a mediumship they might work in groups. The most important thing is gaining experience, practical experience, with the readings and clairvoyance.
Do you have a special message for our readers in these difficult times?
GM: I would just say, stay focused, go beyond the fear, you have a lot of work to do out there and there are a lot of people that need your help as well. So thank you, and keep continuing the good work. The most important thing is, be honest, genuine, and intention to help others. That will return in a million ways.
